Eurostat estimates that 19.716 million people in the EU were unemployed in March 2017. Since 1994 the EURES Network has been constantly evolving to provide information and recruitment services to jobseekers and employers throughout Europe. The EURES Regulation aims at making even more job vacancies and CVs available throughout the EU/EEA and will ensure cooperation and information within the EURES network continues to expand, ultimately resulting in better services for jobseekers and employers.

The #YourCareerMove campaign strives to creatively engage both employers and jobseekers to explore EURES services (e.g. to take the step of registering their profiles on the EURES portal or contact EURES Advisors) and will inspire the EURES network to reach out and cooperate with other networks more proactively. The campaign offers supporting tools that should help EURES staff across the network to creatively express the advantage of EURES services.

Benefits of EURES are brought to life via creative visual elements in motion graphics technique. The video promotes different EURES services. Everyday objects (plant pots, lamps, maps, pins) bring life to: Mobility, EURES network and advisers, European (Online) Job Days, job mobility portal, job matching, information (living and working).

The communications handbook of #YourCareerMove Campaign provides information and guidance on the central elements of the #YourCareerMove communication campaign, and on tools and materials that can be freely used by national coordinators, partners and event organisers to help promote the campaign, and their own initiatives, to the public, media and other target audiences around Europe.

#YourCareerMove was a multilingual quiz, featured on the EURES Facebook page in 2017, which aimed to raise awareness of the EURES network and its services. Several winners received ‘goodie bags’ as prizes, while the main winner won the chance to have their CV featured in an EU country of their choice. When Florian came across the #YourCareerMove quiz on the EURES Facebook page, he realised it was not only a good chance to see if he would be well suited to expat life, but also a real opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship abroad. To have the chance of winning, Florian just had to answer a set of questions and make sure he had a jobseeker profile on the EURES job mobility portal.

Florian had his CV featured by EURES in the UK, where he hoped the abundance of motorsport companies in close proximity to the famous Silverstone racing circuit could result in a dream opportunity. For now, though, he is taking things one step at a time. “The next step for me is to obtain my diploma and then to either carry on with my studies here in France, or to start an apprenticeship abroad if this leads to an offer from a company,” he said.
